Microsoft + $44.6 billion bid = Yahoo

Microsoft Corp. is offering $44.6 billion in cash and stock for search engine operator Yahoo Inc. in a move to boost its competitive position in the online services market. The unexpected announcement Friday comes as Microsoft, the world's biggest software company, seeks new ways to compete more effectively against the search and online advertising powerhouse Google Inc.
Hah...This reminds me of the phrase..(which i made just now...;)..)"What you can't beat, you buy"! Lmao..:)
Geee...this sucks...I mean we all do know how much money microso has got....but its amusing to see microso trying its best to match up to its rival in the cyberspace- GOOGLE!
Yahoo needn't really sell itself away..but microso needs to buy it so as to compete wid google.

Maybe we can see a hybrid yahoo-msn IM..

Whatever maybe the outcome, it is pretty tough for microso to reach upto google's ranks!
All da best Microso...you will be needing it!
